Intensive Wildfire Associated With Volcanism Promoted the Vegetation Changeover in Southwest China During the Permian−Triassic Transition

چکیده
Palaeo-wildfire, which had an important impact on the end Permian terrestrial ecosystems, became more intense in latest globally, evidenced by extensive occurrence of fossil charcoals. In this study, we report abundant charcoals from upper part Xuanwei Formation and Permian–Triassic transitional Kayitou Lengqinggou section, western Guizhou Province, Southwest China. These are well-preserved with anatomical structures can be classified into seven distinctive types according to their characteristics. Organic carbon isotopic analyses both bulk rocks show that δ 13 C org values notably negative than those Formation, a excursion 4.08‰ immediately above volcanic ash bed middle uppermost coal Formation. Charcoals high reflectance (Ro mean = 2.38%) discovered below bed. By contrast, 1.51%) much lower indicating palaeo-wildfire have changed crown fires surface fires, was probably due retrogression vegetation systems during extinction. Based evidence, suppose palaeo-wildfires frequent severe since climate drier China, eventual changeover ecosystems China could caused volcanism.

Vegetation ecotone dynamics in Southwest Alaska during the Late Quaternary
To examine Late Quaternary vegetation change across the modern vegetation gradient from continuous boreal forest (central Alaska) to Betula shrub tundra (Bristol Bay region), pollen records from Idavain and Snipe Lakes are described and compared to those of four other sites in southwest Alaska. Major features of the vegetation history at Idavain Lake include herb-dominated tundra (ca. 14}12 ka ...
